October Omnibus: A spooktacular look at the last month’s covers

Halloween has arrived – and our ghoulish treat for you is a round-up of the October covers from the street papers in the INSP network.

The witching hour is upon us, and has conjured up a month of frighteningly good covers to keep the spectres at bay.

Dust off the cobwebs and enjoy our round-up of the best of October’s covers – if you dare…

Cover Highlights:

StreetWise have gone all out for Halloween – bringing us a creepy cover and edition to show how Chicago marks the dark day. Scarp de’ tenis got funky with face paints, bringing a cover with a serious story behind it about identity and immigration issues surrounding children born in Italy to foreign parents. And Aurora da Rua‘s latest issue was a celebration of all things street art.

We were pleased to see Polish street paper Gazeta Uliczna return to the streets for the first time in 2017 after a difficult year, with a new look and layout. Megaphone marked a mighty 200th edition with a special cover and edition. And Lice v lice celebrated their fifth birthday with an issue dedicated to social innovations (and a cover of cake-cutting!).

A smattering of famous faces adorned the covers of October’s street papers too. Anne Hathaway appeared on the cover of The Big Issue Japan. Jeff Goldblum joined a quirky comic book-style cover of Big Issue North. And the late George Michael graced the cover of The Big Issue (UK).

We’ll be back with a round-up of November’s covers next month. Don’t forget to take a look back at some of our former cover highlights here.
