Halloween Horrors: October’s covers round-up is here

Happy Halloween! The end of October is nigh, and we’re ready to dust off the cobwebs and send shivers down your spine with our round-up of covers from the past month.

We’ve treated you to best of this month’s street paper front pages below – hopefully with no tricks along the way…

Cover Highlights:

Street papers have got into the spooky spirit this month, with some creepy covers just in time for Halloween. The Big Issue (UK) went trick or treaty-ing, with a cover inspired by the ongoing Brexit uncertainty in the UK. StreetWise took us on a terrifying trip to explore the haunted history of Chicago. And L’Itinéraire were guilty of this horror-filled cover, looking at our fascination with crime and its prevalence in film, television and literature.

Street Roots celebrated their 20th anniversary with a special edition reflecting on two decades of free speech from the streets. Toledo Streets marked 10 years in print with a Thank You message on the cover. And Real Change took it to the streets with coverage of those uniting in support of the demonstrations in Hong Kong.

Big Issue North welcomed RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon and comic Eddie Izzard as two of their cover stars during October, with insightful interviews with the pair. Augustin covered a labour dispute in a beauty retailer. And Fedél Nélkül introduced a new look for October with a new masthead and design.

Look back on our covers series here, and keep an eye out for the next round-up coming in late November.
