The Global Street Paper Summit takes place in Manchester later this summer and, to close out the gathering, INSP and Big Issue North are presenting an evening of music on its final day.
Street Noise, hosted by DJ, Manchester legend and street paper supporter Clint Boon, will take place at Manchester’s iconic O2 Ritz on Thursday August 24, with all profits to be shared between Big Issue North Trust and INSP.
As INSP members from around the world get set to wrap up this year’s instalment of their annual forum, Street Noise will showcase three fantastic live acts throughout the night.
Top of the bill is the guitar-wielding folk rock maestro Frank Turner. Fresh off his most recent album Positive Songs For Negative People, his brand of bombastic, emotive rock music will be a fitting end to a night that will raise awareness of the work done by street papers, both in the north of England and across the world.
He said: “I’m very happy and honoured to be doing a show for Big Issue North. The work they do with and for the homeless is invaluable; it’s an important campaign to get behind.
“I’m also happy to be coming back to Manchester for a show – it’s one of my favourite cities in the world.”
Turner will be supported on the night by the glammy seven-piece Felix Hagan and the Family, as well as Bolton’s indie grafters Our Fold.
This is not the first time live music has been part of the event. At the Seattle 2015 summit, a benefit gig was popular with attendees and music lovers alike at the city’s famous rock venue The Crocodile.

This year’s concert promises to be another success, especially as it takes place in a city with such an illustrious musical history, being the home of seminal acts such as Oasis and The Stone Roses.
