As September draws to a close, we’re pausing for a moment to reflect on the impressive street paper covers that have been seen across the INSP network this month.
These covers have been gracing the streets in 34 countries worldwide, and have sold thousands of copies to help give a hand up to the 9,300 vendors selling street papers at any one time.
Read on and enjoy our round-up of the best of September’s front pages…
Cover Highlights:
It’s almost 55 years since Doctor Who first burst onto our screens, and the time-travelling Doctor has been entertaining worldwide audiences with tales from across the galaxies ever since. As we prepare to welcome the Thirteenth Doctor to the TARDIS, Big Issue North, The Big Issue (UK), Street Roots and The Big Issue Australia have all regenerated their covers to feature Jodie Whittaker – the first female to take on the role.
The world said farewell to Aretha Franklin at the end of August, and her incredible life and legacy was celebrated across our network. StreetWise, One Step Away and The Big Issue Australia ran with cover stories about the music icon.
We’ve seen some special editions this month too, marking significant milestones for some street papers in our network. Street Sense celebrated their 15th anniversary with a special cover honouring the community of customers and supporters that have made the street paper a success for the vendors. Ulične svjetiljke marked their 10th anniversary with a celebratory cover, featuring a spread of former front pages. And Sorgenfri reached a landmark 100th issue – which even included a few familiar faces from street papers around the world inside too (see below)!
